Quick and Easy Beef Dinner: Korean-Style Rice Bowl

This Korean-inspired beef dish will get dinner on the table in 30 minutes. An original HelloFresh recipe from November 2016,, this quick and easy meal is easy to replicate even when it's not on the meal plan.

To save time, we also Dietary Ginger Vitality Essential Oil distilled by Young Living in place of the ginger thumb.  One drop is all you need in the recipe.  On a side-note, we've also used Teriyaki sauce in place of soy sauce if we were out of soy sauce when making this recipe.  We believe the secret ingredient in this dish though is the hoisin sauce. We give this recipe top marks for a rice bowl your family will love.

Korean-Style Beef with Jasmine Rice

Ingredients:

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 drop of Ginger Vitality Essential Oil (One thumb of fresh ginger)
  • 4 green onions
  • 1 cup of  Jasmine rice (We make a little more for leftovers)
  • 3 TBSP of Soy Sauce
  • 1 TBSP of Sesame Oil
  • 2 TBSP of Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 1/2 pound of ground beef or ground turkey
  • 2 cups of Broccoli Florets
  • 4 tsp of olive oil
  • 1TBSP Sesame Seeds

Make rice according to package directions.  Flavor the beef or turkey in a large bowl by combining soy sauce, sesame oil,  hoisin sauce, scallion whites (use the green part for garnish), half the garlic and one drop of Dietary Ginger Vitality Essential Oil. (Note. Ginger Vitality Essential Oil is manufactured exclusively by Young Living for dietary use. If you do not have it, use fresh ginger oil. Young Living is currently the only essential oil on the market that markets a dietary oil.)   Add ground beef to your mixture and let marinate for five to ten minutes.

Cook the broccoli florets with a drizzle of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Cook about 6-8 minutes. Season with Himalayan Pink Salt and add remaining garlic. Toss for a minute, remove from pan, and cover to keep warm.

In the same pan, add another drizzle of olive oil and add beef mixture Break up into pieces until browned about 4 to 5 minutes.

Serve beef and broccoli on a bed of rice, and sprinkle with scallion greens and sesame seeds.
