I remember going to the eye doctor at age 39. I've been wearing contact
lenses to correct my vision for almost 20 years now. But, at that visit,
the young doctor said to me, "You're approaching the age where you may begin
to need reading glasses." I guffawed at her audacity! I wasn't
even 40 yet and she was treating me like an old lady! However, she was
right (or she jinxed me), and I was ready for them by my next annual exam.
At
first, I was disappointed. To me, wearing reading glasses made me feel
old. I was only 40. I felt young. But then I realized that
reading glasses are now trendy and fashionable. So I jumped on the
bandwagon and am so happy I did. Gone is the straining to see text on my
phone and gone are the dull headaches I would experience after trying to read
small print.
Reading glasses can be found at many different retailers, from
high-end boutiques to drugstores. In the past, reading glasses were
boring or gaudy, but now it is easy to find a pair that is flattering and
fashionable.
Recently, I stopped in at the Loft to look for
clothes, when I noticed they had a rack of sunglasses, as well as
reading glasses. Cute reading glasses. Stylish reading glasses.
Tortoiseshell reading glasses (my favorite!). Other pretty reading
glasses. And at affordable prices. I picked up a pair of the
Cateye Reading Glasses in the color Pink Fizz
in the strength I need and feel pretty and confident in them every
day.
Many other designers and fashion retailers carry reading
glasses, such as
Anthropologie,
Kate Spade New York, and
Tiffany and Company. Scroll through to find the perfect pair for you!
